How we met
Josh and Thomas first connected in the traditional Bay Area way: on an app. They clicked immediately, but the timing wasn't right. After a month, they fell out of touch.
But it was meant to be! During that flingy January in “Round 1” (as we call it), Thomas had pre-ordered a book as a perfect gift for Josh, but it was insanely delayed. Come October, it finally appeared in Thomas's mailbox. With some trepidation, Thomas texted, out of (9 months’ worth of) the blue, to see if Josh might be interested in this mystery gift. Yet as it happened, Josh had intended to reach out to Thomas that very week to see if he would be game for reconnecting, so they were somehow re-synced to the same wavelength already.
That Saturday, a hike around Buena Vista extended to the peak of Corona Heights Park. Gazing at the SF skyline, Josh leaned on Thomas and enthralled him with tales of his triumph on The Price is Right. With “Round 1” of dating already under their belts, it suddenly all felt very right, very fast.
You may recall we tried to do this once already, and then everything went all 2020 on us. Now after our very long engagement, we are more excited than ever to invite you to our favorite city in the world to celebrate together!

We’re so excited to welcome you into our neighborhood. We’ve purposefully planned this weekend to give you a lovely taste of our little microcosm in the East Cut.
Please ensure you are fully vaccinated+boosted before arriving to SF. Our venue, along with all SF restaurants and bars, will generally require you to show proof of vaccination (i.e. your CDC card or a photo of it on your phone). If you will not be able to be vaccinated by this time, we request you decline.

Salesforce Park.
For those of you arriving a bit early,
we’ll be hanging out and munching on ice cream sandwiches
at this extraordinary multi-block rooftop park which is one of our
favorite places in the city. We'll likely be in the central plaza of the park. An exterior elevator entrance can be found at the end of the transit center nearest 2nd St, or you can ride up to the roof on the grand escalators in the lobby between 1st St & Fremont. |
| 6pm | Thomas and Josh will be taking our parents out to dinner. We encourage all of you to explore some of the great food nearby. Need some ideas? Super Duper, The Bird, Ippudo, and North India are all fantastic options minutes away. |
| After dinner (~8pm) | We'll head back to The Clancy hotel for drinks and mingling at Seven Square Taproom (in the lobby). There is a great outdoor area with fire pits as well as a comfortable indoor seating area. All welcome! |

| 11am-2pm | Hosted brunch. Come to our apartment in the Clocktower for a spread of nibbles and a chance to chat with the lucky grooms before we all need to get back to the real world. Towards the end we may also head to South Park, less than a block away. |
Travel & Accommodations
We’re excited to celebrate with you in San Francisco. SF is a lovely place to visit and April is no exception.
Getting to San Francisco
San Francisco International (SFO) is the most common airport to fly into.
From the airport we recommend taking the BART train from the airport to the city. Airport to Montgomery BART Station is about 30 minutes and $10. On weekdays, trains leave every 15-20 minutes.
Lyfts and Taxis are also easily obtained and (depending on time of day) may take as little as 20m and cost $30-35.
We don't recommend renting a car for your stay — San Francisco is extremely expensive to park in. Valet parking is the only option at the hotel and costs ~$75 a day.
Staying in San Francisco
We love our local area and have purposefully planned all the "extra" activities — outside the ceremony itself — to be within 1-2 blocks of the hotel below. There are many delicious restaurants, beautiful parks, and interesting places here to occupy your time with.
We have a room block at The Clancy Marriott. We were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the rate is for SF. From the Montgomery BART Station, this hotel is a simple 10 minute walk up 2nd street . Of course San Francisco has many hotel and airbnb options. Feel free to follow up with Josh or Thomas if you are considering another hotel or neighborhood and have questions.
